It is made up of ancient humus and decomposed plant remains that seep from cracks in mountains due mostly to the warmth of the sun. It is found predominately in the Himalayan and Tibetan mountains, Caucasus mountains, Altas Mountains, and the Gilgit Baltistan mountains in Pakistan.
